Cal-Wood provides life-changing experiences for Colorado youth and their families through our residential science-based school programs, summer camps, and family camp-outs held at our beautiful, mountain site.

Mission & Vision

Cal-Wood’s mission is to offer a unique outdoor educational experience to youth and adults. Our founding vision has guided our organization since 1982: to inspire a greater appreciation for the natural world; to offer environmental education to those who would not otherwise experience it; and to provide unique educational opportunities in a special mountain setting.

Our Work

Cal-Wood has provided outdoor and environmental educational experiences on site to hundreds of thousands of Coloradans with an annual reach of more than 4,000 individuals. Our programming is as unique as our 1,200 acres of pristine ponderosa pine forests which has served as our outdoor classroom since 1982.
