What’s Camp All About?
Do you like pushing yourself? How do you like the sound of scrambling up remote 13,000 ft peaks, jumping off cliffs into mountain lakes, hiking all night to catch the sunrise above the tree line, and speeding down 2,500 vertical feet of snow on your sleeping pad? Laugh yourself through an amazing week of backpacking in some of the most beautiful, remote locations in Colorado. Safety is paramount, so learn how to keep yourself and your group safe in the backcountry with medical, navigational, leadership, and Leave No Trace knowledge.
What Do We Do At Camp?

This camp is for:
15-18 year old thrill seekers, adventure addicts, limit pushers, rompers, positive thinkers, problem solvers, photographers.
This camp spends the first night and the last night of camp at our historic Mica Mine Camp, an easy 2.5 mile stroll to the most idyllic piece of our 1,200 acre property. Our campsite includes male and female latrines, daily water and food drops from our lodge, a large kitchen/storage tent, a fire pit, and most important, serenity. The remainder of camp will be spent in 2 person backpacking tents, in the Colorado backcountry. Campers will be equipped physically and mentally for a 4 night, 5 day backpacking trip. Any gear that a camper doesn’t have will be provided by Cal-Wood.
