Identify your first wildflower, ride a horse through Rocky Mountain splendor, get your hands dirty while exploring the underwater world of our ponds! Discover ecosystems, use tools, and learn the mysteries of our night sky as you start your summer camp career as a junior scientist!
What Do We Do?
high ropes course, sleep out under the stars, tie-dye, arts & crafts, living history at our homestead, riparian ecosystem exploration, night hike, campfire
This camp is for:
risk takers, stargazers, wildlife lovers, hands-on learners, class clowns, costume-wearers. This is the place for that kid who always comes inside with muddy sneakers and dirt underneath their nails.
This camp is based at Cal-Wood’s headquarters. Campers will sleep in our quaint cabins, just a hop, skip, and a jump from the Main Lodge. Each cabin has 5 bunk beds, a propane heater, and a dresser for each camper. The Lodge houses our bathrooms, dining hall, Bear Room, and administrative offices. Campers will have the opportunity to take a shower during the camp session. Each cabin is under the supervision of a Cal-Wood staff member and Counselor-in-training (CIT). Homemade, nutritious meals are served in our dining hall, while our Bear Room provides an indoor space for the whole camp in case of inclement weather.
