Ever wonder what it takes to be a great leader? Come to Cal-Wood's Leadership Camp to find out! You will learn how take care of yourself and others in the great outdoors while having a really good time. There will be opportunities to lead activities, hold council meetings, practice survival skills, campout under the stars and many other great activities. Who knows? Maybe one day soon you may find yourself in a position to lead others.

  • Bag of Tricks: Create a journal of useful trail games, leadership ideas and outdoor living skills that you can use in the future.
  • Teambuilding: Play games, solve problems and overcome obstacles while becoming a stronger leader. Cross-train this knowledge to everyday life situations while adding to your bag of tricks.
  • High Ropes Course: Challenge yourself and accomplish what you didn’t know was possible. You will be trained to scale a twenty-foot wall, balance on a suspended cable, and try other challenging elements while in the safety of high ropes certified experts. Take on the challenge to lead others through the course!
  • Primitive Skills: Acquire knowledge to help you provide for yourself in a survival situation. Learn how to make shelters from natural materials, ways to find food and water and create your own primitive fire making set.
  • Group Management and Care: Practice how to manage a group on trail, lead trail games, and learn general first aid skills.
  • Archery: Expand your skills with a bow and arrow. Develop techniques and general safety skills that go with being a great archer.
  • Career Exploration: Learn about opportunities in Outdoor and Environmental fields from local experts.
  • First Aid Training: Get certified in Basic First Aid by a Red Cross professional.
  • Backpacking: Find out what to bring, how to pack your bag, and how to pack group gear for an overnight backpacking trip. End the day with roasting marshmallows and telling stories around the campfire.
  • Teaching Skills: Teach a skill or interest to the rest of the group. (You will prepare before coming to camp.)
  • Night Hike: Discover the night sky while conducting night science experiments.
  • Camp Games: Participate in legendary camp games like Capture the Flag, Egg Toss and Ultimate Frisbee.
