Day 1

An introductory day. Emphasis is on awareness of students' new environment at Cal-Wood. Teaching includes team building and introductory academic concepts.

(Topics, activities, and activity length to be determined with teacher input) Lunch in the field around noon (sack lunches from home)

Day 2

A full, intensive day of learning and exploring in the outdoors. Instructors teach a variety of creative, discovery driven activities. Team building development continues.

Students remain in same learning groups and are prepared for full day outside. Lunch in the field around noon.

Day 3

The final day builds upon the students' newly acquired awareness and knowledge. Program emphasis progresses to the understanding that students are connected to the natural resources that they have explored. Our ultimate goal is to relate the learning of Cal-Wood to the students' home environment. Finally, all Cal-Wood educational programs provide a form of closure.
