Activities

Adjacent to the lodge/cabin area visitors can use a campfire arena (fire restrictions dependent), a recreation field, team-building initiatives and 1,200 acres of private land to explore. Cal-Wood maintains over 9 miles of trails for hikers of all abilities and interests. Our most popular, the Longview Trail, is a gradual 1/2 mile climb from the lodge/cabin area to a spectacular overlook of the Continental Divide. Also nearby to the lodge/cabin area are two fishing ponds, an authentic homestead cabin, and a tipi. A walk to the east end of the property is a little less than 2 miles long and takes you through a pristine valley to a small waterfall and abandoned mica mine.

Team-Building

Cal-Wood has the capability to add a powerful team-building experience to any program, youth or adult. Our expert staff utilizes a wide variety of activities and initiatives aimed to promote communication, problem-solving and trust. We have many challenging team-building "elements" on-site that are extremely effective in facilitating positive groups dynamics. The extent to which team-building is incorporated into a program varies considerably depending on the needs of each group.
