Director of Education

Jared Mazurek is the Director of Education at Cal-Wood Education Center. Originally from Minnesota, he moved to Colorado in 2010 and hasn't considered leaving since. Jared holds a Master's in Teaching degree from Colorado College and is a licensed K-6 teacher in the state of Colorado. Jared's undergraduate degrees in Environmental Science, Geography, and Spanish are from the University of Denver. Jared has worked in the Environmental Education field all over the Western U.S. over the past 12 years. Most recently, he worked as the Director of Education at the Catamount Center for Environmental Science & Education in Woodland Park, CO and served as an Adjunct Professor in the Colorado College Department of Education. Jared also serves as the Northeast Region Co-Chair on the Colorado Environmental Education Leadership Council, is a Project Learning Tree Facilitator, a member of the NAAEE Guidelines Trainers Bureau, and Careers in Natural Resources Trainer. In his role at Cal-Wood, Jared directs all of our programming, including our K-12 Environmental Education programs, as well as a team of stellar environmental educators and program coordinators. Jared enjoys spending time in nature with his wife, Ally, and their dogs. When not at Cal-Wood, you can find Jared climbing, flyfishing, backpacking, kayaking, birding, herping, or simply getting lost in the vastness of the Colorado Rockies.
