WE HAVE STARTED HOSTING FAMILIES AGAIN AFTER THE FIRE!
RE-IMAGINING THE CAL-WOOD TRADITION
So many of the students from our partner schools have been looking forward to their Cal-Wood program this school year, as this has been a tradition for many generations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand that bringing the students with their class is not possible at this time, but we still want to offer a unique, limited, and safe opportunity to experience the outdoors at Cal-Wood to the students and their families.
HOW TO SIGN UP!
Find a group of at least 9, preferably 11, families from your school, learning pod, or neighborhood that would like to participate.
Have each family complete the online application form.
Cal-Wood will be in touch to finalize dates and provide all of the information you need.
COVID-19 SAFETY
To minimize the potential threat of COVID-19, we will accept only 11 families per program. Each family will stay in their own cabin, meals will be served individually to each family, and each family will have a designated table far apart from the other families. During the day, in our 1,200-acre classroom, we will have one Cal-Wood instructor for every two families or maximum of ten people. We will require masks when in groups and when social distancing is not possible.
Cal-Wood staff will adhere to all CDC/WHO, state, and local public health guidelines at all times. If you are interested in learning more about our COVID-19 specific policies and procedures, please contact Cal-Wood directly.
LOGISTICS
You can register for 3-days, 2-nights or an overnight program. 3-day programs can be scheduled for any days of the week or weekend, including Sunday-Tuesday programs.
Each program will be developed for each group so we can support the academic goals and content for the students' curriculum. Content may include: pond studies, animal adaptations, forestry/ecosystem dynamics, homestead, and much more!
Parents will be responsible for providing transportation to and from Cal-Wood.

We have upgraded the internet in our cabins to allow for access to distance learning and working remotely!
PROGRAM COST
The cost to participate is $200.00 per person, with a maximum of $600.00 for a family of 3-5 individuals. This cost includes 6 meals, two nights lodging, instruction during the day, two evening programs and accident insurance for those who don’t have health insurance. Kids under 5 years old are free. If you are bringing more than 5 family members, please contact Cal-Wood to coordinate.
Families in need of financial assistance can apply for a partial scholarship. To apply for a scholarship, please contact us.

The revenue from this program will help Cal-Wood survive the pandemic as all of our regular programs have been canceled.
APPLICATION
To enroll, parents will need to apply online. After a family submits their application, Cal-Wood will send a confirmation, and then the family will pay the $25.00 deposit to complete the registration process. After this process is complete, Cal-Wood will send an information package to help families prepare for their program. Registration is on a first come – first served basis, so please apply ASAP.
