BIRDHOUSES
This year marks the 4th annual Art in the Park, featuring extraordinary birdhouses built from trees burned in the 2020 Calwood Fire. A special thanks to Cal-Wood Education Center’s Luke Waldroup and Bob Wood for their incredible work in constructing the birdhouses.
Each birdhouse stands as a symbol of hope, resilience, and the strength of our community. This Art in the Park, in partnership with Chautauqua, brought together not only nationally renowned creatives but also many talented young artists.
Auction proceeds will benefit the participating artists, support Cal-Wood Education Center’s ongoing recovery efforts, and contribute to Colorado Chautauqua’s vital wildfire protection initiatives.
On October 17, 2020, a devastating fire ravaged over half of Cal-Wood's 1,200 acre outdoor campus. In 2021, the Colorado Chautauqua joined forces with Cal-Wood to help with our recovery efforts, as well as help raise awareness for Chautauqua's own efforts to protect its National Historic Landmark campus from a catastrophic wildfire.
All wood used for both the bench and birdhouse Art In The Park projects was sourced, milled, and planed lumber from trees burned in the fire.
