 Camping Guide 

Hello! Thank you so much for inquiring about camping at Cal-Wood. Please reach out to retreats@calwood.org with any questions.

Campsites:

We currently have five campsites available spread across our property. This document goes over the locations and amenities available at each site.

Aspen Glen -

  • Capacity: 25 tents/75 people

  • From June-September Cal-Wood’s Family Camp Program uses this campsite, this means:

    • We have 12 large canvas tents set up which comfortably sleep 6 people each

    • This site is only available on the weekdays

    • There are 3 porta potties and a handwashing station available for use

  • Bear bins and trash cans are available year round

Solitude -

  • Capacity: 20 tents/60 people

  • Permanent outhouse

  • Bear bins and trash cans are available year round

  • Lightning shelter onsite

  • This is our closest established campsite to the main lodge

Outpost -

  • Capacity: 20 tents/60 people

  • Permanent outhouse

  • Bear bins and trash cans are available year round

  • Lightning shelter onsite

  • Booked from June-August

Rec Field (only available if you are also booking space in the cabins or Meckley)-

  • Capacity: 20 tents/60 people

  • Short walk to the lodge for restrooms

  • Food storage available in the lodge

Columbine -

  • Capacity: 10 tents/20 people

  • Lighting shelter

  • Bear bins and trash cans

Firewood/Propane -

  • If you will not be making a campfire during your stay, please let us know. Please do not bring your own firewood into Cal-Wood.

Lodge and Shower Access -

  • Shower access is available for groups. If you would like to include lodge access as well, please inquire with the Retreat Coordinator.

  • Lodge use is not guaranteed with your camping stay, please inquire about this with the Retreat Coordinator prior to booking.

  • The timing of this will need to be negotiated based on the schedules of the other groups onsite. The Retreat Coordinator will let you know when it is appropriate for your participants to access the showers and indoor lodge space.

  • Shower access does not need to be included for the duration of your trip. You can decide how many days you would like to have access to the showers.

Meals:

  • Meals are not included in your camping rental. If you would like to add any meals to your stay, please contact retreats@calwood.org.
