Cal-Wood On the Go

Bring the wonders of nature straight to your classroom with our Cal-Wood On the Go guest speaker program! Designed to spark curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the natural world, this interactive experience lets students explore the outdoors without ever leaving school. Our skilled field instructors come to you, leading engaging, hands-on sessions that make science and nature come alive.
  • $260 for 1-hour session (up to 35 students)

  • $60 per additional hour

  • *20% discount if you schedule a program for January

Art & Adaptations

(4th Grade & Younger)

Students will explore the amazing world of animal adaptations, learn what they are, and draw cool examples. Then, they'll use their creativity to design their very own unique animal with special adaptations. It’s the perfect mix of imagination and science!

Colorado’s Living Landscapes

(Upper Elementary &

Middle School)

Designed to inspire curiosity and appreciation for the natural world, this engaging session will invite your students to delve into the intricate food webs of Colorado's ecosystems. Students will explore how energy flows through our natural world, highlighting the relationships between producers, consumers, and decomposers with the Colorado Rocky Mountains as an example.

Tree Rings & Climate Clues

(High School Students)

In this class, students will become "climate detectives" by unraveling the mysteries hidden in tree rings! They’ll discover how trees "write" a story of the planet’s climate through the rings they grow each year. By studying these patterns, students will uncover secrets about temperature, rainfall, and environmental changes—giving us clues about climate change and what the future might hold.
